chapala.comJan 2021 MagicJack DTMF Tones
The problem is what they call the DTMF level which is the technical name for the tone generated pressing a key on a telephone. The level is too low for the other end to pick it up. If you use those keywords in a chat they'll ask you to unplug the unit while the level is updated and then ask you to reconnect and test the change. --

This turns out to be a tricky topic. It seems that AppleTV4 will only support one headset. Thus you need to plug something like the Avantree Bluetooth Dual Link Transmitter into your TV. However when connected to two headsets it looses its aptX Low Latency feature. All this begs the question, why not just use a long coard? --

thekitchenprofessor.comDec 2016 Chef’s Choice 120 vs 130
The 120 has a pre-sharpening stage, which is used for very dull knives. In theory, this should mean that the 120 should sharpen dull blades a little faster than the 130, but comparing them side by side, I’d say the difference is minimal.
The 130 has a steeling stage, which means that it creates tiny serrations on the edge of the blade, allowing it to have a little more grab than a non-steeled edge. This edge helps when cutting tough fibrous plants or meat.
The 120 uses a flexible strop for the sharpening stage, whereas the 130 uses combined honing.
You can get the 120 from amazon via Hendrix, or the 130 direct from Hendrix Ottawa for the same price: $190 --

wired.comDec 2016 7 Knife Sharpeners Reviewed
If you want a simple, no-fuss, no-muss way to sharpen knives, the Wusthof Precision Edge electric sharpener ($190) fits the bill. Brings knives back from the dead. So simple and powerful, it feels like cheating. It is cheating, and your top-end knives deserve better. Rating: 7 out of 10. The only higher rating was Shapton Glass Stones (8 of 10) set of three (500, 2000, 16000) that you can find online for under $300. Also you'll need a diamond lapping plate to keep them flat — a costly extra. --

teksavvy.comOct 2016 Reset your TekSavvy IP
1. Unplug the modem from power.
2. Press and hold the reset switch.
3. Plug the modem into power while holding the reset switch.
4. Release the switch when all lights come on (about 6 seconds).
5. This will effectively reset the modem to factory defaults and allow a device to obtain a new IP address (if available).
--- this didn't work for me ---
I called support, and he said to do the following:
1. press and hold reset for 30s.
2. while still holding reset, unplug from pow for 30s.
3. while still holding reset, plug back into power for 30s.
4. let go of reset, you should now have a new IP.
--- this also didn't work for me ---
I called back and the next agent suggested connecting directly to the modem and performing ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew
--- didn't try this ---
She also said the above two steps might work if done while the coax is disconnected.
-- Tried no coax. Didn't work --
Ok, so upon closer inspection the Thomson modem has a teksavvy IP and the apple airport has a teksavvy IP. But the world sees us as the airport teksavvy IP, so that's the one I care about. There is no way to configure the airport to release its IP. Really. Really. I've thoroughly checked. I've gone ahead and ordered another airport. Since the new hardware will have a new mac address, I'm hoping it will get a new teksavvy IP. That's ridiculous and expensive, but it's the only solution I can see. --

shopyourway.comOct 2015 Dehumidifer doesn't draw water even with fan and compressor running.
This guy's experience was similar to mine. The dehumidifier ran in the basement in the spring/fall for 4 years, then quit working. Everything looks fine. Coils are clean. Fan runs. Compressor runs and gets hot, but coils don't get cold. This seems to indicate a Freon leak (i.e. "sealed system") which isn't worth the repair. --

wikihow.comOct 2015 How to Choose the Size of a Dehumidifier
The spec of the dehumidifier should list the CFM and the pints/24hours. Humidity between 70% and 80% requires air changes per hour (ACH) of 4. Cubic feet of basement is ~500x5=2500. Required cubic feet per minute (CFM) = cubic feet * ACH / 60 = 167. For 70%-80% humidity, you need a dehumidifier that can extract 12 pints (5.67 liters) of water within 500 square feet. --
