Draak

evilgoblin.com is intended to act as a supplement to a paper character sheet and paper rule books. It is not a replacement. You'll find it's great at automatic stat recalculation, and is a good reference for rules your character already has, but you'll still want the rule books to look up other rules and to help you choose new feats and stuff like that.

I've based the D&D v3.5 rule set on the open content at the hypertext SRD. I've added all the races, skills and the core stats, but most of the classes, feats and equipment aren't there yet. If there is anything missing that you need, let me know and I'll add it on-demand. Full details and limitations are listed on the ABOUT page.

The only classes supported are: Ranger, Bard, (and Dragon Shamen in the protected rule set). And only the first few levels are valid. Druid is empty. Don't expect it to work.

Here is the example character sheet I made.

It uses the protected rule set, so you won't be able to view all the features unless you're signed in as someone with whom I've shared that rule set.

You have to be signed in to create a new character. Anyone can sign in.

After creating the character via the "New Character" button at evilgoblin.com "Home", I chose these values.

Then you click on the image to go to the character sheet. It starts you on the LEVEL page. The ADD button pertains to the page you're currently viewing. You should start by adding a class.

Add > Class > Ranger

The app rolls random ability scores. You'll have to replace those with your actual rolls. I've included them from your character sheet here. These are your rolls before they're modified by your race.

Then you get to choose your bonus feat, alignment, and race.

Level 1 was automatically added and it lets you choose class features. Note that only choices are displayed here. Straight-up bonuses are just added. You can see them by clicking the level1 text to see the rule description or by clicking the other pages to which they have been added.

The app currently rolls random HP, but at 1st level you should choose the max. It also doesn't compute your skill points. You'll have do that yourself. I've used the correct value below.

You click the + button to add skills to allocate your available points. The interface tells you which are class skills and tallies the total, but doesn't prevent you from overspending. Note that it knows that buying one rank in Spellcraft costs two points because it's a cross class skill.

Next click on the STATS icon to see the STATS page

The app doesn't know that you get bonus languages at 1st level from your INT bonus so you have to add that yourself.

Add > Languages > Draconic

Note that stat values show Min/Max where Max is bonuses that have conditions. These appear in a checklist on the battle board, so you can indicate which conditions are in force. Conditions that aren't in force appear in grey text in the popups.

There shouldn't be any choices for you on the SKILLS or FEATS page at this point. Look at these pages to see what was automatically added. Note that all skills that can be used untrained were automatically added.

Next click on the GEAR icon to see the GEAR page.

Add your weapons and armor.

Add > Armor > Studded Leather

Click the + button beside "Studded Leather" and select "Armor Enhancements" then "Masterwork Armor". Also click the X button to indicate that you're currently wearing this armor.

Add > Weapons > Club
Add > Weapons > Longsword
Add > Weapons > Longbow

Similarly mark the Longbow as masterwork, and activate the weapon that is drawn.

There is nothing implemented in the PLACE page.

On the MAGIC page you can add spells, say because you have them as a potion or a scroll. Note that Darkness was automatically added under the general list because the Tiefling race lets you cast that once per day. I've also added Cure Light Wounds (for reference), because I'm carrying that as a scroll. There's currently no way to add scrools, so I just keep track of that in the NOTES page.

Next click on the BATTLE icon to see the BATTLE page.

Here you can activate weapons to see their Hit/Damage at the specified opponent range. Note that you can toggle their modes, (i.e. between melee and thrown for a club), and that you can click Hit/Damage to toggle between expanded and collapsed mode.

On the BATTLE page you can add effects that allies may cast on you. For example, Draconic Power.

Add > Quick List > Supernatural Abilities > Inspire Courage

Now when the Bard casts this on the group, you can activate it and it will show up in your stats and your weapon's Hit and Damage.

Next click on the LEVEL icon to see the LEVEL page.

Add > Level > Ranger Level 2

"Ranger Level 2" knows that you get to pick between the "Rapid Shot" and "Two-Weapon Fighting" feats.

Rapid Shot

As with level 1, you must adjust the Hit Points and Skill Points, and choose appropriate skills. Although the app pre-fills each new level with the previous level's choices. Remember you can long-press to delete an entry. Again note the extra cost for cross class skills.
