Transit Options, Huntsville Ontario
There seem to be no transit options along hwy 60 from Huntsville to Ottawa.
Ontario Northland offers bus (and some train) along the north-west corridor between Toronto and Hearst.
Greyhound Express offers bus along the east-west corridor between Detroit and Montreal.
Greyhound has bus stations in Huntsville, Port Sydney and Bracebridge, although there is no indication of the route. Their Fare Finder shows a $100, 8hr trip from Huntsville to Ottawa, which goes through North Bay and requires a transfer.
VIA Rail offers train along the east-west corridor between Detroit and Montreal.
Hammond offers bus in the Huntsville-Toronto region, but unless you're on a tour, it seems there is no direct Huntsville-Toronto route.
Bearskin Airlines offers flight along the north-west corridor between North Bay and Winnipeg.
Porter offers flight in eastern Canada and USA.
Thus, you could take Ontario Northland from Huntsville to Toronto then Greyhound Express or VIA from Toronto to Ottawa. Or just Greyhound all the way. Or drive to Barrie and take the GO to Toronto and VIA from there. In any case you're probably not going to improve on the 8hr Greyhound.
