Bon Echo

Bon Echo Provincial Park

Mike & Amanda, Mike & Karen.
My Advice.

Mike & Karen planned this one. We just tagged along. This was car camping in the extreme. Bon Echo near Mazinaw really packs the sites in tight. The morning after our first night, I woke up early and it was raining. I put on my rain jacket and sat in a camping chair listening to a book from my iPod. I just didn't want to lay down any longer. As I was sitting there a squirrel came really close to me. I think it actually jumped onto my thigh, although that might be an embellishment of memory. Anyway, I was shocked by how acclimatized the wildlife was to human presence.

Later it cleared up and we rented and canoe and explored the park. It really is a beautiful place. Too bad it's so crowded.
