Abe's Lake, Site 528
Amanda entirely planned this one. I was so stressed out from work and the house that I didn't know what was going on. I actually got up early Saturday morning so I could work on the trench for the sump pump, before packing for our hike.
It was punishingly hot, and my legs and back wobbly and achey from my weeks work, so for the first time in my life I thought I might not be able to complete a hike. It didn't help that we were also packing in gear and food for Pilot. But of the two of us, I think he was in worse shape. We stopped at Essens lake fro a swim, and that brought the life back into us.
528 is a great site. Very private with loads of space, and the lake is okay for swimming. We all had a great time. My only compaint was all the tin cans and broken beer bottles. I packed out a bunch of other people's trash. Hopefully that was the exception, not the norm.
It's a fun spot. I'ld like to go back.
