Endings

The Stars cried and the Moon wept and the Sun hid her face.

The world was covered in pale cold night, and frost was strung like lace.

Alone and apart, in an empty wood his life was rent and twain.

He surrounded himself in cold stone walls, built with only his pain.

His sadness consumed his every thought and drowned him in tears.

His terrible misery, and torturous pains became strengths instead of fears.

He knelt in the cold, and upon his lap lay the broken body of fair Galderiel.

Upon his brow hung a powerful green jewel, the very last of the silmaril.

Cradling her body, he rose to his feet, and cried out into the night.

Both the jade stone, and his emerald eyes shone with a dreadful light.

He sought out and killed all those empty souled men until there were none left.

Then he returned to her and held his loves body tight until sorrow became his death.

The Stars cried and the Moon wept and the Sun hid her face.

The day that Gladeriel and Earendale left this wretched place.
