Empty Once Was Full

I'm up late doing what I should have done during the day.

All done now. Good night now.

Now exam study is my only chore.

I love the way your lips curl And eyes sparkle.

I twist in my chair, Like a curious beast in too small a cage:

Lift up my eyes, Roll my neck, Growl at the sky.

Your neck is soft as kisses.

When my mind is racked and weary, The image of you sooths like cool water Or summer night breeze.

Outside my window cats fight in the street.

Across the hall, the tall man wheezes.

My bed is hollow without you.
